EFI is looking for a QA Engineer to join our Fiery Business Unit in our Fremont, CA office. Focus in Print Production/Graphic Communication

We are looking for a QA engineer with experience in Print Production or Graphic Communication.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

A QA Engineer is required to fully test the Print Production workflow or RIP and Imaging System to

ensure it functions properly and meets the Business Needs / Requirements. The job responsibilities


• Understand print production market requirements and apply reflect real world use cases of high

speed print production to testing software

• Apply defined best practices and procedures to influence and drive for a high-quality print

production workflow solution

• Influence and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff relating to

testing procedures or printing workflow concepts

• Work in a team of other QA engineers and help the team lead with assessing project quality

risks to determine effective mitigation plans

• Review and understand printing market and project requirements and assist in and utilizing

automation and regression testing

• Communicate and coordinate testing printing or pre-press software and bug reporting with

remote and local teams

• Document test results accurately and present reports concisely with the rest of the team

• Participate in bug review processes including identifying, documenting and following through on

the defect lifecycle.

• Maintain and deploy product software builds and hardware configurations in the test


• Participate in standardization activities at project level with engineering and supporting teams

• Demonstrate ownership for areas of testing and deliverables and is accountable for product


Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Printing Technologies, Graphic Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial

Engineering or other related disciplines

• 1 to 2 year experience or basic knowledge of the print production industry

• Comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite and Enfocus Pitstop or other prepress software (Apogee,

Esko, Preps, etc.)

• Knowledge of file standards and terminology for print production (bleed, trapping, color

separation, resolution, etc.)

• Knowledge of general prepress workflow, pre-flighting, proofing, layout / imposition, and offset

printing principals

• Basic understanding of Color matching, Color correction, Color management, Image


• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and quantitative reasoning skills

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills, highly organized, enthusiastic, and resourceful

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work when necessary

• Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a virtual and fast-paced environment

Preferred skills:

• Familiarity with Mac OS and Windows OS

• Familiarity with prepress and printing workflow management software

• Testing Experience 0 to 1 years

• Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Live Cycle (STLC).

• Basic understanding of Agile and Waterfall development process

• Basic understanding of bug reporting process and JIRA

• Basic understanding of server systems and client systems

• Knowledge of Software Quality Assurance, Quality Control Process, and testing methodologies
